PATRICK AND DENISE GANNON, PARENTS OF SEAN GANNON, Yarmouth Police Sergeant killed in the line of duty on April 12, 2018 For all of our friends, colleagues and family who live on Cape Cod or one of the Islands, please read our message. Thank you. On behalf of District Attorney Robert Galibois, Esquire Re-Election for District Attorney for Cape and Islands Patrick and I first met District Attorney Galibois when he came into office after the trial of the person who murdered our son, Sergeant Sean Gannon, a K-9 police officer for the Yarmouth Police Department, had already concluded. We asked to meet with the DA's Office as the defendant was seeking an appeal of his convictions. District Attorney Galibois willingly agreed to meet with us and included several members of his staff who had been part of the legal team for the trial and appeal, as well as a Yarmouth police officer. The meeting was a very positive and supportive experience. DA Galibois listened carefully and compassionately to our concerns and requests and assured us that he and his team would continue working with us throughout the appeals process. We left that meeting feeling confident in Mr. Galibois and his team. Throughout the years since Sean's murder, our family has continued to receive consistent updates on every stage of the appellate process, which is every defendant's legal right. In 2025, District Attorney Galibois and members of his team appeared with us in Suffolk Superior Court for a sentencing appeal. We neither requested nor expected them to be there. Traveling from Cape Cod to Boston is not easy, and we were deeply moved to find ourselves surrounded by the support of a very busy District Attorney, members of his staff, and the Yarmouth Chief of Police. Their presence was not symbolic—they were there to stand with us on another incredibly difficult day. District Attorney Galibois' leadership, together with his team's work, contributed to a favorable outcome in the sentencing appeal. As this case continues through the appellate process, we remain confident in his leadership. In our opinion, District Attorney Galibois distinguishes himself as a servant leader, a model of excellence, professionalism, and a trailblazing approach to jurisprudence. We are grateful to District Attorney Galibois as we continue our pursuit of justice on Sean's behalf.
